The Thankful Trend

14 Nov

‘Tis the season to be thankful!

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” -Melody Beattie

Did you know that gratitude is a learned behavior? This season, we’re helping families express their gratitude & encouraging children to be thankful for all things in life.

So, how are we going to do this? With help from our new favorite product:

Turkey on the Table is a book & activity that allows the whole family to show their thankfulness every day. The goal is to turn thankfulness into a daily routine.

The Turkey on the Table kit includes an adorable knit turkey, customizable feathers with marker, and a heartwarming book. Here’s how it works:

Aside from thankfulsmall-feeding-americaness, Turkey on the Table encourages giving back through their partnership with Feeding America.

With each Turkey on the Table sold, 10 meals will be provided to someone in need. To date, over 102,000 meals have been donated.

More Thankful Traditions!

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” -William Arthur Ward

There are so many other ways to express gratitude this year! One of our favorite thankful activities is the Thankful Tree.

Thankful Trees are both a way to express thanks & a fun activity for the whole family! All you need is a few tree branches, construction paper, scissors, glue & markers to write with.

Fashion a tree from the branches. Next, cut the paper into leaves. Have everyone write what they are thankful for on the leaves & hang them on the tree. Display your Thankful Tree so everyone can see! Each time you see it, you will be reminded of the many things there are to be thankful for!

Tablecloth of Thanks

Another Thankful activity we love is a Tablecloth of Thanks! Create a new Thanksgiving tradition by having everyone at dinner sign the tablecloth with their name and something they are thankful for. Keep the same table cloth and have family members add something new each year! It’s a great way to remember old memories, start new ones & express gratitude.

Enjoy this holiday season, but never forget the reason we have it!

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

– 1 Thessalonians 5:18
