Heavens to Betsy… Delicious and Easy Homemade Tagalongs!

12 Apr

Hey y’all!

We hope every one of you had a fabulous Easter weekend filled with chocolate bunnies, deviled eggs and unbridled joy for our risen Lord! Today, we are enjoying watching our talented silhouette artist, Lena Bengston, work her magic- in five minutes! It is truly amazing to watch, and the kids are loving it! If you have five minutes to spare, bring your child (or a side photo) to Wrapsody, and we will work you into the schedule! You won’t regret it!

Today’s post is short and sweet…literally. 🙂 Who LOVES Girl Scout cookies? I really do think that if the U.S. decided to survey the nation on America’s favorite Girl Scout cookie, Tagalongs would win by a long shot. I mean, what’s more American than cookies, chocolate and peanut butter? That’s what I thought.

Warning: May destroy willpower.

Most folks love to stock up on Girl Scout cookies, but they always seem to disappear more quickly than we’d like. Today we are offering a sweet solution to your Tagalong troubles by giving you a homemade recipe that might be (*gasp*), well, better than the original!

And did I mention that they’re ridiculously fast to make? …..

And inexpensive? …..

And delicious? …..

Okay, that’s enough. Sorry. Moving on.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ritz crackers
  • Peanut butter (preferably Jiff)
  • Chocolate candy coating (found in the baking aisle; looks like a little tray of melting/baking chocolate!)
  • Aluminum foil or wax paper

Here’s what to do:

  1. Make as many tiny peanut butter sandwiches as you desire by spreading a substantial amount of peanut butter in between two Ritz crackers. Don’t eat them yet.
  2. Melt your chocolate in its tray in the microwave according to the directions on the package. The chocolate should be fully melted. (You may have to stir it around a little in between heatings.)
  3. Once the chocolate is melted, take your peanut butter sandwiches and drop them in the tray, flipping them over with a spoon until the entire sandwich is fully coated with chocolate.
  4. Remove the chocolate-coated sandwich and place on aluminum foil to harden.
  5. After ten minutes, your Tagalongs should be hardened and ready to be devoured!

That’s it, folks! It really is that simple…trust me, from personal experience I can testify to the chocolate, peanut buttery goodness of these little guys! They are DELICIOUS, and you may have to hide them from your friends and family.

Lots of love,

The Wrapettes
