The final countdown, another sweet reminder, and a taste of what’s to come!

3 Apr

It’s Tuesday, Wrapsody friends! DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?! Let’s recap.

We’re a mere TWO days away from our Hoover store’s grand opening (just down the street from our old location), and a mere FIVE days away from Easter! (Hence, five days away from lifting the seasonal ban off of white jeans. My goodness, I’ve been waiting for this.)

We’ve been working our tails off to prepare our new store for you, and we know you’re going to love our look! It’s going to be roomier than ever, with plenty of  space to stroll through and peruse our lovely spring merchandise. Lord knows a trip to our grand opening just might be the highlight of your week, because it sure is ours! Besides, we’d love to see your pretty faces and personally welcome you to our new location! Write it down in your calendars…you don’t want to miss this!

As if our grand opening weren’t enough excitement for one week, Easter Sunday is coming up this weekend. Despite the chaos and hoopla of our big move, we’re still pumped up for one of our favorite holidays!

See these little guys? They, along with some of their best friends, will be hanging out at both of our store locations this Saturday (4/7/12) to help get you and your little ones into the Easter spirit! (Elves at Christmas, chicks at Easter. That’s just how it goes.) This is  another event also worthy of a spot in your calendar…you won’t want to miss these adorable, fluffy babies!

Although it undoubtedly falls into the category of holidays that Americans always celebrate, Easter is the most precious and meaningful holiday for Believers everywhere. If the Burial and Resurrection had not so divinely conspired on that joyful morning, well, I shudder to think where I’d be now.

A couple of my favorite Easter Bible verses are Luke 24:5-6. Christ has already been crucified, wrapped in linens and buried in the tomb. Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Mary the mother of James go out on the first day of the week to re-wrap Jesus’ linens and to freshen the tomb with spices they prepared. When they arrive at the tomb, they find that the boulder has been rolled away, and Jesus’ body is quite literally nowhere to be found. (I don’t know about you, but I would be having a conniption at this point.) Luke 24:5 says that while they are “wondering about this,” (more along the lines of FREAKING OUT) two men who “gleamed like lightning” stood beside them. The verse says, “In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the Living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!‘” (Luke 24:5-6)

Oh, my. How many times have I sought the Living One among the dead? How many times have I blatantly forgotten that He, indeed, is risen? He has, indeed, won the battle? He, indeed, is coming back for us?

Jesus is risen and alive in the hearts of Christians all over the world, and for that we have ten thousand reasons to celebrate this Sunday fully and joyfully! Live in expectation of Christ’s active work in the world and in the church. Look for the signs that He is alive…you will never come up empty-handed!

We’re going to leave you with a hint of what’s to come on Thursday…these are the coolest. Easter eggs. ever. Kids and adults alike will have a blast making these. We’ll tell you how in a couple of days! Lots of love, The Wrapettes
